Thanks, Fluff. I just used one of the Christmas themes on my new lens, Can’t Catch Me, I’m Wearing My Gingerbread Apron lens. I love how it looks at the top but I am thinking the main part of the lens may be a bit busy…because of the riot of colors on the aprons. (There’s not much text.)

I’m wondering what other people think.

Sounds like a good plan, and I am sure after 2 years these lenses could use some brightening up, with new ideas for formatting and styling the content.

I do like the Amazon Spotlight module for products, and it’s always current. This does give plenty of information about items that you want to feature.

There are plenty of Wii games on the market now, and the popularity of them has been proven. The trick now as you emphasised is to improve the ranking in the search engines and to lure potential buyers of games for the Wii to your lenses.

Wishing you luck and improved traffic and sales.

Good tips here Fluff and I will have to check it out – particularly if there’s any problems with using Clearspring Widgets in future;)

A very wise Lensmaster (Lakeerieartists) recently suggested that Lensmasters should sign up with USA, UK and Canada Amazon as affiliates as there’s a higher proportion of visitors form those countries and that we should have links to all three on our lenses, which is what I am starting to do. However Amazon Canada has very limited product range if you are looking for more than books and CDs.

Updated to include the new theme added to Squidoo – “Default with Divider”.

Also, lens themes are live as soon as you pick them in the Workshop (no need to publish), plus there’s a new ‘Apply to all’ option.

Perhaps they’ll reintroduce the Discovery Tool, or a variation of it? I understand the criticism of it being so close to the top of the Lens, but surely Squidoo benefits by keeping traffic within the site. Maybe it could go beneath the sidebar ads, that’s a huge expanse of unused space. I’d also love to see the Lensroll make use of that, and show more Lenses without having to be expanded!

If you have the Squidoo Toolbar installed, you can switch between themes while viewing any lens - perfect for experimenting.
